Meet Dreamer

Dreamer

Dreamer came to us as an owner surrender when she was just four months old. Sadly, fennec foxes are one of the most commonly surrendered exotic animals to sanctuaries. Many people fall in love with their adorable looks without fully understanding their unique needs, and later realize they aren’t able to provide the specialized care these little desert dwellers require.

Dreamer is extra special because she has a half tail. Her mother bit it off shortly after birth, a behavior that can sometimes happen in fennec litters. While most fennecs look almost identical, her little half tail makes her easy to tell apart and gives her a unique charm all her own. Her former owners loved her enough to make the difficult decision to place her somewhere she could thrive.

They reached out to us knowing she would have the companionship of other fennec foxes, a proper diet, and an environment tailored to her needs. Here, Dreamer is safe, cared for, and surrounded by friends who understand her species inside and out.

She may be tiny, but her story is a big reminder of why we do what we do, giving foxes a chance at the life they truly deserve.
