Timber
Timber came to us in the final group of rescues from the “Fur Farm 500” through SaveAFox. His striking color morph, known as Burgundy Gold, makes him stand out, but his past tells a story of hardship.
Like River, we believe Timber was used as a breeder fox, likely between three and four years old (if not older), with the lasting damage to his feet showing the toll of years spent on wire flooring in a small cage. On fur farms, foxes are often raised in pairs.
Over time, I’ve noticed a pattern: one usually grows timid and fearful, while the other becomes bold and brave. River is the cautious one of this pair, but Timber is his opposite, the confident, curious spirit who meets the world head on. Together, they represent both the scars of their past and the resilience that shines through despite it.
Timber and River hold a very special place in my heart, a reminder of why we fight so hard to give these foxes the safe, loving lives they’ve always deserved.
