Miko

Our First Fennec Fox Miko was the very first fennec fox to join Salty Fox Sanctuary, and although he is not a rescue, he has played a truly important role in shaping who we are.

By bringing Miko home, we were able to learn firsthand about fennec behavior, care, and diet, knowledge that became invaluable when our rescue girls later arrived. In many ways, he prepared us to give them the best possible life. Full of curiosity and charm, Miko has become a steady presence in our fennec family.

As a companion to the female fennecs who were surrendered to us, he brings comfort, balance, and a sense of home to their group. Miko’s place in our sanctuary story is irreplaceable, he represents the beginning of our journey with fennecs and reminds us every day why these little desert foxes deserve safety, love, and dignity.
